Welcome To The NSS Group Webpages
We have published extensively in the areas of asymmetric synthesis using chiral lithium amides bases, and in the synthesis of natural products and their bio-active analogues. Along the way we have made contributions to sulfur chemistry (especially sulfones), radical reactions and organometallic chemistry. Current research is focused on the synthesis of complex natural products, especially the welwitindolinone alkaloids, polyprenylated acylphloroglucinols, such as clusianone, nemorosone, and garsubellins, complex indole alkaloids, such as the stephacidins and asperparalines, and the classic alkaloid target gelsemine. We are also interested in the design and synthesis of large molecular frameworks (especially boxes), using smaller molecules, such as [2]-rotaxanes, as building blocks. |
